First off, I would like to thank Simon and Nicole for their fab class in May… aimed at connection and frame, it covered style, connection, frame, musicality, improvisation, etc… It was very well recieved.

Mariachi at SP was an interesting beastie!! Soooooo many people commented on how they had the “dance of the weekend” to a Mariachi tune, it also proved a challenge for some dancers… ALL debate welcome below…

The good thing is that within Mariachi: MJ, tango, WCS, and latin dancers are all catered for with tracks that are either pure MJ at it’s best or crossover… so seeing tango and MJ, or WCS and MJ, to the same songs is not uncommon… So, bring what U have: and enjoy!!!

May is almost upon us and that means MORE MARIACHI!!!!!

First off, we are delighted to be in Oakham on Sat 24th May. Simon Rich and Nicole Beckey will be coming to teach our concept class. If U haven’t done one before, these classes are not about moves: they are about giving U the tools to encourage ur own expression within the music… to help U “dance” to each song and not just do moves…

Already we have some FAB dancers booked up, with tickets already in their hands… come and join us for the ride…

Thereafter, we are looking forward to bringing 2, YES TWO, afternoon sets at Southport on the May/June weekend… some chilled, some intense, ALL musical…

Well, Phil might not have kicked our butts!! BUT he had them moving in new ways!!! His concept class had us isolating muscle groups then doing body rolls!!!!!

Was a good night, with many top drawer dancers joining us..

Good news is that Phil Webb is teaching the “concept class” at Mariachi on 23 Feb!!!

Phil is the better looking half of the “Phil & Yuko” partnership and has been Ceroc Champions 2 yes in a row, Chance to Dance UK Champions 2 years in a row and is the only dancer we know of who has been Champion of every major UK competition at the same time!!! After the class, U can get him up on the floor!

Well…. if U missed Southport, U might not know that the 2 afternoon Mariachi sets wre the most talked about sets of the weekend, with a whole range of new dancers raving about Mariachi, its variety, its passion and its freedom of expression!!! The good news is that Mariachi is booked again, already, for the afternoon slots at May/June Southport!!

Sat 25th August, come and enjoy 6 whole hours of Mariachi freestyle from 7.30 at the Harpur Hall, in Bedford.

All the Mariachi hallmarks will be there: expressive music, great tunes: some of which you’ll know, but have never danced to; some of which you’ll have danced to before and some tracks waiting to become new favourites as well as our “On The Hour Experimantal Tunes”!!!!
